Hualien Charming City Hotel

Breakfast (Chinese style) was good and full of lots of things which vegans could eat (and additional things non-vegans could eat). Location is fantastic for both train station (5 mins walk) and bus station (3 mins walk) although note that the town has two 'centres' the other is a bus journey away. There is a pleasant lounge and reception area with free drinks (coffee/tea etc), piano and a carp pond. I think there will be a gym and games room downstairs in due course although it was not yet open when we visited. Room was pleasant with desk and comfortable chair. Bathroom and shower was good and kettle/fridge/AC all worked well.

Great location near the train station. Staff was friendly but rigid. Breakfast was good with variety of offerings.
